In inFlow, only one SKU can be assigned per product.&nbsp;</p><p>Accurate tracking is possible because SKUs are unique. They are required to connect inFlow to ecommerce integrations such as Shopify.</p><h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-options-for-adding-skus-to-inflow">Options for adding SKUs to inFlow</h2><p>In inFlow, we offer two ways for you to add SKUs:</p><ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong><a href="#adding-existing-skus">Add existing SKUs from your products</a></strong> &#8211; Great for using the SKUs your vendor/supplier has provided. This option allows you to have greater flexibility and control over the SKUs in your inventory.</li><li><strong><a href="#have-inflow-generate-skus">Have inFlow generate SKUs for your products</a> </strong>&#8211; This is best if your products don&#8217;t have SKUs. inFlow will create new SKUs for all products.&nbsp;</li></ul><h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="adding-existing-skus">Adding existing SKUs from your products</h2><p>If your products have SKUs from your vendor/supplier, you can add them to inFlow in two ways.&nbsp;</p><ul class="wp-block-list"><li>Adding individual SKUs to a product record.</li><li>Importing SKUs in bulk with a CSV import.</li></ul><h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-adding-individual-skus-to-a-product-record">Adding individual SKUs to a product record</h2><ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Open the product record. See below for details.</p><h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-creating-a-csv-template-by-exporting-from-inflow">Creating a CSV template by exporting from inFlow</h3><p>If you don&#8217;t have a list of your products on a spreadsheet, inFlow can make one for you. The convenient part is that when you use this file to import your SKUs, inFlow will recognize the data, making the importing process even easier.&nbsp;</p><ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Go to Main Menu &gt; <em>Export data</em>.</li><li>Select <em>Product Details</em> from the <em>Data type</em> section.&nbsp;</li><li>Click <em>Export </em>to<em> </em>download the CSV file to your computer.&nbsp;</li></ol><p>Blockquote: CSVs exported from inFlow will have more data on the spreadsheet than you need for importing SKUs. Click <em>Okay</em>. The convenient part is that when you use this file to import your barcodes, inFlow will recognize the data, making the importing process even easier.&nbsp;</p><ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Go to Main Menu &gt; <em>Export data</em>.</li><li>Select <em>Product Details</em> from the <em>Data type</em> section.&nbsp;</li><li>Click <em>Export </em>to<em> </em>download the CSV file to your computer.&nbsp;</li></ol><blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-style-tip-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow"><p>CSVs exported from inFlow will have more data on the spreadsheet than you need for importing barcodes. But don&#8217;t worry—this isn&#8217;t a forced change.&nbsp;</p><p>Your products&#8217; barcode numbers won&#8217;t change. This is so you can select different products from the list to transfer. Click on the same product more than once to increase the quantity you want to transfer.</li><li>When you&#8217;re done selecting the products, click outside the drop-down menu to continue processing the stock transfer. You can edit the quantity and the sublocations from here.</li><li>When ready, click on the <em>Send transfer</em> button. See below for complete steps.</p><ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Go to Main Menu &gt; <em><a href="https://app.inflowinventory.com/stock-transfers" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Stock transfer list</a></em>.&nbsp;</li><li>Click on the <em>+New transfer</em> button.&nbsp;</li><li>On the window that loads, click on the location you want to transfer products from, then click the destination location.&nbsp;</li><li>In the center of the page, click the + Add products button, and select the serialized products you need to transfer.</li><li>Click outside the drop-down menu, and select the serialized product.&nbsp;</li><li>Next to the quantity, click on the gray square symbol. This represents the serial numbers you need to select.</li><li>A list of your serial numbers will load in a drop-down menu below the quantity. Select the serial numbers from the list that you&#8217;ll be transferring. The number of serial numbers selected will always equal the quantity of the product on the order (3 products = serial numbers).&nbsp;</li><li>Once you&#8217;ve picked the serial numbers, the square will turn blue. This means you&#8217;ve selected enough serial numbers for the amount of products on the order. You can add any information needed.</p><h4 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-how-to-add-new-custom-fields-from-the-stock-order-screen">How to add new custom fields from the stock order screen</h4><p>If your team has <a href="https://www.inflowinventory.com/support/cloud/how-do-i-set-up-custom-fields" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">added custom fields to inFlow</a>, you can use those fields on stock transfers too.</p><ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Click on the <em>+Set custom field</em> button.&nbsp;</li><li>If you don&#8217;t have any custom fields click on <em>Manage custom fields</em>.</li><li>Enter a name next to<em> Field 1</em>. The team member needs to be able to have access to the sending location or the destination location.</p><p>This means:</p><ul class="wp-block-list"><li>A team member who has access to all locations or a team member with access to only the sending location can start a transfer.</li><li>A team member with access to all locations or a team member with access to only the destination location can complete the transfer.</li></ul><p>A team member can have location-based access rights and make transfers within the locations they have access to. All team members will only be able to make transfers within locations they have access to.</p><blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow"><p>Note: At the moment higher tier plans have access to the Restrict access by location add-on. There&#8217;s one extra step. See below for the complete steps.</p><ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Create a new stock transfer or open an existing stock transfer.&nbsp;</li><li>Add the serialized product(s) to the order by selecting <em>Scan products </em>or <em>Add products.</em></li><li>Select the quantity you want to transfer. Then tap <em>Set serials.</em>&nbsp;</li><li>Select the serial numbers from the list, or scan them. The number of serial numbers selected must match the quantity of the transferred products.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Tap <em>Done</em> to return to the product selection screen. Then tap <em>Done</em> again.&nbsp;</li><li>Once you&#8217;ve picked the serial numbers, the square symbol next to the transferred quantity will be grey. This means you&#8217;ve selected the correct number of serial numbers. This will return all product quantities to where they were before the transfer.</p><ol class="wp-block-list"><li>To do this, tap on the <em>Actions</em> button.&nbsp;</li><li>Select <em>Cancel transfer</em>.</li></ol><h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-stock-transfer-list-view">Stock transfer list view</h2><p>When you go to the Stock transfer list, you&#8217;ll only see open and in-transit transfers. The team member needs to be able to have access to the sending location or the destination location.</p><p>This means:</p><ul class="wp-block-list"><li>A team member who has access to all locations or a team member with access to only the sending location can start a transfer.</li><li>A team member with access to all locations or a team member with access to only the destination location can complete the transfer.</li></ul><p>A team member can have location-based access rights and make transfers within the locations they have access to. All team members will only be able to make transfers within locations they have access to.</p><blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow"><p><strong>Note</strong>: At the moment higher tier plans have access to the Restrict access by location add-on. You can think of it as a recipe where the ingredients and steps are provided.&nbsp;</p><p>The manufacture order is where you track the tasks to complete manufacture. Such as:&nbsp;</p><ul class="wp-block-list"><li>Product picking</li><li>Reordering</li><li>manufacturing operations</li></ul><p></p><h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-before-getting-started">Before getting started</h2><p>Before assembling products, there are a few things you&#8217;ll need to have in inFlow.&nbsp;</p><ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Have you added all products to inFlow?</strong> For inFlow to complete manufacture, we suggest that all products you&#8217;ll be working with are added into inFlow before starting a manufacture order. Each operation represents a different stage in the manufacturing process.&nbsp;</p><p>We&#8217;d encourage you to add operations to the bill of materials before creating an MO to have all the steps ready when it&#8217;s time to assemble. You can create the MO from here. These are listed based on how much inventory you have to fulfill the MO.&nbsp;</p><p>inFlow will reserve stock on the prioritized orders first. Often, bundles are sold at a discounted price compared to selling the individual products separately.&nbsp;</p><h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-summary-of-how-bundling-works-in-inflow">Summary of how bundling works in inFlow</h2><p>Product bundles can be made using inFlow&#8217;s manufacturing features. Here&#8217;s a summary of how this process works.</p><ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Create the individual products in inFlow that belong in the bundle.</li><li>Create a stocked product with the bundle name and a bill of materials with the products in the bundle.&nbsp;</li><li>Set the bundle options to automate the creation of the bundle.&nbsp;</li><li>When a bundle is picked or placed on a fulfilled sales order, a Manufacture order (MO) is automatically created and completed to deduct the inventory of the individual products and increase the inventory level of the bundle for sale.&nbsp;</li></ol><h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-setting-up-bundle-products">Setting up bundle products</h2><h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-create-product-bill-of-materials-nbsp">Create product bill of materials&nbsp;</h3><ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Create the bundle product, and select the <em>Manufacturing </em>tab.&nbsp;</li><li>Click <em>Add a bill of materials</em>.&nbsp;</li><li>From the product list, select the component products that the bundle contains. With this setting, your team can only assemble products by manually creating a manufacture order.</p><h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-auto-assemble">Auto-assemble</h3><p>If this product is sold as a bundle, select this option to have inFlow automate manufacturing/assembly of the contents of the bundle. This is a good option for ecommerce and retail environments.&nbsp;</p><h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-buildable-and-available-quantities">Buildable and available quantities</h2><p>The quantity buildable is the quantity of how many Bundles inFlow can build based on the individual products you have in stock that the bundle contains.&nbsp;</p><p>Example: You have an online store that sells&nbsp;</p><ul class="wp-block-list"><li>cellphone cases for $10.00 (quantity: 20 in stock)</li><li>cellphone chargers for $7.00 (quantity: 10 in stock)</li><li>Cellphone/Case bundle containing one cellphone case and one charger for a discounted price of $15.00.&nbsp;</li></ul><p>If you have 20 cellphone cases in stock and 10 cellphone charges in stock, the quantity buildable for the Case/charger bundle is 10.&nbsp;</p><h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-combine-quantities-nbsp">Combine quantities&nbsp;</h3><p>For retailers and companies who sell products individually and in a bundle, we recommend including quantity buildable for your products within the available. These are products that are pre-built or manufactured to stock.</p><p>With this setting, the quantity available won&#8217;t show how many products can be built with the quantity available of the individual products that are in the bundle.&nbsp;</p><p>Example: You have an online store that sells&nbsp;</p><ul class="wp-block-list"><li>Cellphone cases $10.00 &#8211; Quantity: 20&nbsp;</li><li>Cellphone chargers $7.00 &#8211; Quantity: 10&nbsp;</li><li>Case/charger bundle $15.00 &#8211; Quantity: 2&nbsp;</li></ul><p>With the <em>Separate quantities</em> setting active in the above example, inFlow won&#8217;t look at how many products could be built based on the quantity of the individual products that are in the bundle.</p><p>inFlow will only look at how many Case/charger bundles have been previously built and are in stock. The easiest way to create your import file is to export your existing product details. This feature is only available for products with a bill of materials. Bundled products will have to be made manually with a manufacture order.</figcaption></figure><h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-importing-to-inflow-nbsp">Importing to inFlow&nbsp;</h3><ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Go to Main Menu &gt; <em>Import data</em>.</li><li>In the <em>Data type</em> drop-down menu, select <em>Product details</em>. Click Select a file to upload your CSV to inFlow, then click <em>Next</em>.</li><li>A preview of your product details will appear. If you would like to edit the way the fields are mapped from your spreadsheet, click <em>Edit Data Mapping</em>.</li><li>Match the inFlow product name field (to the left) to the product name field in the drop-down menu.&nbsp;</li><li>Match the inFlow <em>AutoManufacture and CombineQuantityBuildable </em>fields to the matching fields in the drop-down menu.&nbsp;</li><li>Click <em>Import</em>. The import will run in the background, and you&#8217;ll be emailed the results when done.&nbsp;</li></ol><h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-bundle-workflow">Bundle workflow</h2><p>In this section, we&#8217;ll go over the process of the typical workflow for a bundle product.&nbsp;</p><ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Create a sales order with bundle products.&nbsp;</li><li>Pick or fulfill the sales order. A pop-up window will open, showing the completed Manufacture order (MO) that was created. The bundle components are deducted from your inventory, and the bundle is added to your inventory for the sales order.<br><br>If your team wants access to the bundle&#8217;s pick list, click <em>View</em> to open the MO. Then select <em>View full pick list.&nbsp;</em></li><li>Click <em>View</em> to open the MO or <em>Close</em> to continue with the sales order.&nbsp;</li><li>Process the payment of the sales order to complete the order.&nbsp;</li></ol><figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1048" height="876" src="https://www.inflowinventory.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/9.gif" alt="" class="wp-image-48665"/></figure><h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-avoiding-inventory-discrepancies-nbsp">Avoiding inventory discrepancies&nbsp;</h2><p>The sales order and manufacture order created <strong>are not</strong> linked. You can add new components to the main assembly or any subassembly on an MO.&nbsp;</p><ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Click on the ellipsis next to the subassembly.&nbsp;</li><li>Click on <em>Add components.&nbsp;</em></li><li>Select or search for the components and enter the quantity needed.&nbsp;</li><li>Click <em>Add</em>. You can refresh the MO to update the BOM and operations from the product record to your MO. Or, if there were changes to the order, you could click the refresh button to&nbsp;</p><p>Blockquote: Note: If you refresh a product that has subassemblies, the subassemblies will also be refreshed.&nbsp;</p><h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-remove-from-order">Remove from order</h2><p>If there&#8217;s a subassembly or component product you don&#8217;t need on the MO, you can remove it from the Overview table.&nbsp;</p><ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Hover the subassembly/component, and click on the ellipsis.&nbsp;</li><li>Click on <em>Remove from order.&nbsp;</em></li></ol><h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-working-with-serial-numbers">Working with serial numbers</h2><h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-serialized-assembled-products">Serialized assembled products </h3><p>To assemble a serialized product. You&#8217;ll have to get started with making a new MO.&nbsp;</p><ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Create a new MO, select a serialized product, then click <em>Next.</em>&nbsp;</li><li>Enter the quantity you&#8217;re building.&nbsp;</li><li>Next to the quantity, click on the serials symbol and enter the serials. The number of serials entered should match the quantity being built.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>When done, click <em>Create.&nbsp;</em></li></ol><h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-serialized-raw-materials">Serialized raw materials</h3><p>When working with serialized raw materials, you can view and select a serial number when picking.&nbsp;</p><ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Once the serialized product is picked, a window will open.&nbsp;</li><li>Select one of the serial numbers from the list. Alternatively, select View full pick list to see a list of all components/products on the MO.&nbsp;</li><li>Scan or check off the raw materials that you&#8217;re able to pick.&nbsp;</li><li>Click the <em>Save</em> button.&nbsp;</li><li>From here, you can click on the back arrow to return to the <em>Overview </em>table.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li></ol><h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-edit-picked-date-or-location-nbsp-nbsp">Edit picked date or location&nbsp;&nbsp;</h2><p>If you need to change the picked date of raw materials or the location from where it was picked, you can do that from the pick list.&nbsp;</p><ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Click on the Assembly or select <em>View full pick list</em>.</li><li>In the <em>Raw materials </em>list, hover over the product you want to make changes to, then click on the ellipsis.&nbsp;</li><li>Select <em>Edit locations </em>or <em>Edit pick date. </em>&nbsp;</li><li>Edit location: Change the <em>Location </em>and <em>Sublocation</em> drop-down menus to select different locations. Click <em>Save</em> when done.&nbsp;</li><li>Edit pick date: Click on the date field and select a new picked date. Click <em>Save </em>when done.&nbsp;</li><li>Click <em>Save</em> on the MO to keep the changes.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li></ol><h2 class="wp-block-heading inflow-support-tab" id="h-order-level-customizations">Order-level customizations</h2><h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-subassemblies">Subassemblies</h2><p>If you pre-build components that are used for another assembly, inFlow will treat those components as raw material (a stocked subassembly). You can create the MO from here. If reorder settings haven&#8217;t been created, click on the yellow warning at the top of the page to set the product to be reordered by a Manufacture order.&nbsp;</li><li>Click <em>Reorder </em>when done, and you can open the new MO to start assembly.&nbsp;</li></ol><figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1048" height="880" src="https://www.inflowinventory.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/25.gif" alt="" class="wp-image-48625"/></figure><h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-build-from-materials">Build from materials</h3><p>To keep all assemblies in a single MO:&nbsp;</p><ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Hover the subassembly and click on the ellipsis.&nbsp;</li><li>Click on <em>Build from components.&nbsp;</em></li><li>Select <em>Use current order.</em></li></ol><p>On the MO, you&#8217;ll see the subassemblies and the raw materials needed to build.&nbsp;</p><figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1048" height="876" src="https://www.inflowinventory.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/26.gif" alt="" class="wp-image-48628"/></figure><h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-split-into-a-new-order-nbsp">Split into a new order&nbsp;</h2><p>If you want to split up the quantity of the finished products that you&#8217;re building on a MO, you can create a new order and set the quantity for that new MO.&nbsp;</p><ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Hover over the main assembly and click the ellipsis.&nbsp;</li><li>Select <em>Split into new order.</em>&nbsp;</li><li>Enter the quantity that you want to add to the new MO, then click on <em>Split into new order.</em></li><li>You&#8217;ll see a pop-up with the newly created MO number. Click <em>View</em> or click <em>Done.&nbsp;</em></li></ol><h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-operation-costs">Operation Costs</h2><p>While creating a bill of materials on the product record, the operations costs are estimates that give you an idea of the total cost to manufacture.&nbsp;</p><p>During manufacturing, you can update the <em>Per-hour costs</em>, <em>Estimated duration,</em> and <em>Per-unit cost </em>to reflect the actual time and cost associated with manufacturing to give you an accurate cost of manufacturing.&nbsp;</p><ol class="wp-block-list"><li>From the <em>Overview </em>table, click on a main or subassembly.&nbsp;</li><li>If needed, pick the raw materials, then click <em>Assemble</em>.
